Server Rules
These are the PharoGames Server Rules — a plain-language guide to how we expect everyone to behave across the entire network: our Java game servers, this website, our forums, and our Discord. Every rule below applies to what you say on voice chat exactly as it applies to what you type. Anyone can connect and play; you must be at least 13 to hold a PharoGames account, talk on voice, post on the forums, or buy anything.
This page is a friendly summary. The legally binding version lives in Section 3 of our Terms of Service; where the two ever differ, the Terms of Service controls. We may update these rules as the network grows.
The short version
Play fair, be decent, and keep it fun.
Breaking these rules can lead to a mute, kick, or ban. Most punishments are at staff discretion and escalate with severity — but some things are an immediate, permanent ban, and those are clearly marked below.
Respect other players
Friendly banter and competitive PvP trash-talk are part of the game — "I'm going to destroy you this round" is totally fine. What is not fine is making the game miserable for someone:
- Targeted harassment, bullying, or following a player around to ruin their experience.
- Needless toxicity — insults and put-downs that carry on once the round is over.
- Pile-ons — a group ganging up on one person in chat or on voice.
- Telling someone to "kill themselves" (or anything similar), even as a "joke".
- Slurs or demeaning remarks dressed up as banter.
Consequence: Mute or ban, at staff discretion. Sexual harassment, or severe or sustained harassment, is a permanent ban.
No hate speech
No slurs or hateful content targeting anyone's race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or identity. Our filter blocks this automatically, everywhere, in text and on voice.
Consequence: Mute or ban, at staff discretion.
Keep it appropriate
No sexual or sexually explicit content in chat, on voice, in names, or anywhere else on the network.
Zero tolerance: any content that sexualizes minors results in an immediate, permanent ban and is reported to the appropriate authorities.
No real-world harm
Immediate permanent ban- No doxxing. Never share anyone's real name, address, school, workplace, or other personal information.
- No credible real-world threats of violence.
This is about real life. In-game PvP talk ("I'll kill you", "you're dead next round") is part of the game and is fine — threatening someone in real life is not.
Struggling? We're here to help — not to punish
If you talk about self-harm, you will never be punished for it. If our systems or staff notice someone in distress, we'll quietly reach out — that's all. Please talk to a member of staff or a local crisis line if you're going through something. You matter.
Play fair — no cheating
PharoGames is competitive, so anything that gives an unfair advantage is banned:
- Hacked or modified clients (killaura, reach, X-ray…), autoclickers, schematica / printer / world-download mods, and intentionally abusing dupes or bugs — temporary ban → permanent on repeat.
- Minimaps, and mousetweaks-style auto-stacking / fast-looting mods — warning first → temporary ban.
- Health indicators — any mod, client feature, or overlay that shows you another player's health, whether that's hearts or an HP number over their nametag, a damage tint, or a health bar. Switch it off before you play here — warning first → temporary ban.
Allowed: fair performance and cosmetic mods are fine — Sodium, OptiFine, shaders, and clients like Lunar and Badlion. Those clients ship a health indicator, so turn that one module off; the rest of the client is fine. Found a bug or dupe? Report it instead of abusing it.
Play the game as it's meant to be played
Winning a match should mean you outplayed the lobby. Anything that fakes that result is out:
- No cross-teaming. In a solo game, working with another player against everyone else is cheating, whether you arranged it beforehand or you just quietly stopped hitting each other.
- No win-trading or stat boosting. Don't hand out kills, wins, or losses to farm stats, leaderboard places, coins, or battlepass progress.
- No ghosting. Once you're dead or spectating, don't feed information to players still alive. Spectator chat is separated for a reason, and routing around it on Discord or a call is the same offense.
- No AFK farming. Idling through matches to collect coins, XP, or progress isn't playing.
- No griefing, intentional team-killing, throwing a match on purpose, or disrupting lobbies.
Queue into team modes with your friends as much as you like — that's the point of them. The line is a solo game, where everyone is meant to be on their own. Staff review match replays, so this is easier to spot than it looks.
Talk on voice, don't blast it
In-game voice is for talking to the people around you.
- No mic spam, screaming, soundboards, or holding the key down to play music.
- No clipping, distorted, or deliberately painful audio.
- Rules 1 through 4 apply to what you say out loud exactly as they apply to what you type.
Voice is always recorded, for every speaker, and transcribed for the same filter that reads chat. You must be at least 13 to talk on voice. Our Privacy Policy covers what we keep and for how long.
One account, played honestly
Immediate permanent ban- No ban evasion or mute evasion. Using an alternate account to get around a ban or a mute is an immediate permanent ban.
- No account sharing, selling, or buying.
- No scamming, and no real-money trading. Buying or selling accounts, in-game items, or currency for real money is an immediate permanent ban.
- No payment fraud. Filing a chargeback for something you received and used, instead of contacting us first, gets those items revoked and can get you banned. Message us on Discord or email support@pharogames.net and we'll sort it out.
Be recognisably yourself
No offensive, hateful, or sexual usernames, nicknames, skins, or capes.
- Don't impersonate staff. Nothing in your name, nickname, or skin should suggest you work here or can hand out punishments.
- Don't impersonate another player or a creator, and don't claim their rank, wins, or reputation as yours.
Wearing a /nick disguise is a feature, and using one is fine. Using one to convince somebody you're staff is not.
No spam or advertising
- Don't flood chat or repeat the same message — there's a short cooldown to keep chat readable.
- Links to other websites and servers are automatically removed; only Twitch and PharoGames links work in chat. Advertising isn't punished — the link is simply stripped.
Reports and appeals reach a real person
A moderator reads every report and every appeal, so wasting that time costs the players who need it.
- Don't report someone you have no reason to suspect, and don't organise a group to bury a player in reports.
- Don't spam appeals or open tickets to relitigate a decision you already appealed.
Reporting in good faith and turning out to be wrong is completely fine. Report what you saw, pick the match, and let staff check the replay.
How enforcement works
- Chat is filtered automatically. Some content is blocked instantly; more serious flags are reviewed by a human moderator before any action is taken.
- Punishments are at staff discretion and usually escalate: warning → mute → temporary ban → permanent ban. The offenses marked as an immediate permanent ban skip the ladder.
- Chat and voice are recorded and may be reviewed for moderation and safety. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what we keep, and for how long.
Reporting and appeals
- Report a player in-game with /report (Voice / Text Abuse, Cheating / Exploiting, or Other), or from the website. Pick the match it happened in and staff can pull the replay.
- Appeal a ban below — sign in, tell us your side, and a moderator will review it (if approved, your ban is lifted automatically). If your account isn't linked, use the appeal code shown on your ban screen. For other punishments, open a support ticket with the category Appeal.
- Billing or chargeback disputes: please contact us on Discord before opening a dispute.
Thanks for helping keep PharoGames fun and fair for everyone. See you in the lobby.
